Today I found a couple of websites that had fun activities and games for those of all ages! The Arabian Horse Association had several fun pages related to the Arabian Horse (like Trio!!) I also found a website (thanks to the American Horse Council) that has games and puzzles as well as activities. There is some advertising of items, so be prepared for that - but the games can be fun! There are crafts and horse videos as well - so have fun investigating. Have fun learning about Horses and Riding!

There are thousands of different horse breeds around the world - from tiny ponies to great big draft horses! At Majestic Hills Ranch, our horses only come form a handful of different breeds - guess which ones belong to each and learn more about the history of their bloodlines! Today I have fun colors for everyone! Each horse has its unique color that they were born with, though it may change slightly as they age. Can we find each of the Program Horses' colors on the chart? See if you can get them all correct!! Today, we look at all of the outside parts of the horse! From Nose to Tail - and everything in between - we can learn what everything is called on a horse. Then, try to figure out where the part would be on a person! While we may not have a hock or a tail, we do have an elbow (or 2!), shoulder, neck and hip. Practice all of the parts on a toy horse, so you can impress your horsie friend when next you meet! There is a good website that shows a more in depth picture of the horses' anatomy, plus pictures of a horse skeletal system and teeth. If you have more questions - please check out the following site:

Yesterday the horses went out to the pasture for the first time in 2020! To keep our three pastures in good condition, the horses are kept off until the grass reaches a certain height - and then we rotate through them all spring, summer, and fall. The horses start on just a short time and then over a week or 2 they are up to being able to be out all night. They LOVE their grass!! Psst... Please excuse how hairy and muddy the horses are, there are not many of us able to groom them at the moment. They will be sleek and shiny in a few weeks!
Dr. Seuss rapping PartyI am not sure where I found this link - but here is a video of Dr. Seuss books being rapped - and he is doing a fantastic job! "Fox in Sox" is a favorite of mine. Marshall is patiently waiting to go back out to the herd after having a lovely breakfast. Do you see that he still has some on his lips? Maybe he needs a napkin! |
