Information on TR / EAA
Therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted activities have been utilized through history to help heal the wounded, but have come into prominence in the last 40 years. As more research has shown, interacting with a horse (or any animal) helps with both mental and physical healing. Horses work well at exercising the body in a motion that is similar to a normal walking gait, helping train a rider's muscles and brain how to move around properly. They also are very good at reading body language, so they are able to help regulate and calm moods of their companions.
