Information on TR / EAA
Therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted activities have been utilized through history to help heal the wounded, but have come into prominence in the last 40 years. As more research has shown, interacting with a horse (or any animal) helps with both mental and physical healing. Horses work well at exercising the body in a motion that is similar to a normal walking gait, helping train a rider's muscles and brain how to move around properly. They also are very good at reading body language, so they are able to help regulate and calm moods of their companions.
